AGPAL accreditation
Michigan Drive Medical Practice is fully accredited by AGPAL (Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited) to meet the RACGP Standards for General Practices. We achieved our 3rd full accreditation in December 2021. These Standards are a benchmark for quality care and risk management in Australian general practices and aim to protect patients from harm by improving the quality and safety of health services.
Spirometry accreditation
Michigan Drive Medical Practice is also an accredited Spirometry Practice. This is an annual accreditation process that the GPs and nurses have to do to keep updated with the current and accepted standards and guidelines. This is achieved through Quality Innovation Performance Limited (QIP).
The Queensland Government Resources Safety & Health Queensland (RSHQ), formerly Department of Natural Resources Mines and Energy (DNRME), currently publishes a register of practices (as well as other approved providers) that provide spirometry (lung function) tests for the Coal Mine Workers’ Health Scheme.
MDMP also meets all the standards for the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) standards for the delivery of spirometry for coal mine workers, as per accreditation by QIP.
